”Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Once you have travelled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers. The mind can never break off from the journey.” Pat Conroy
“Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” Seneca
How does one revive a life? To revive a life – I believe – one must dive deep into one’s life to pull out hidden passions, lost clarity, definition of one’s personal integrity plan. To revive a life means to bring out the essence, passion, soul of one’s life and shine it oh so bright in the world. To revive a life is to commit to a life lived making choices that support optimum well-being.
My life is being revived through the Travel Lifestyle I embraced earlier in 2011. Many of us reserve a trip for a special occasion; once in a life-time opportunity. Yet, I am meeting others who are starting to see that this belief doesn’t feel right. They have decided that travel (having life experiences) is a priority above and beyond the mere collecting of things. Not to mention Travel – mini vacations – is known to enhance health and reduce the effects of stress.
My first trip outside of the borders of the USA was a cruise I took to the Bahamas December 2, 2011. Observations:
- Sense of palpable freedom
- Surrounded by the feelings of celebration
- Joy
- Discovery
- Surrender to new culture and new ideas (I wanted to rest my aching leg when we stopped in a coffee shop. I put my leg up – shoe not touching but I was gently reprimanded for doing so). Put my ego on hold - opened to the flow. Best growth opportunity ever.
- I fell in love with the energy/vibe of the Bahamas and ready to go back.
My goal for 2012 is to take part in a Manifest Foundation Trip - this will support one of the 7 areas of Well-Being I am cultivating in 2012. More to come – pictures included. Please share your travel experiences – how it changed your life?
Remember Eat, Pray, Love? Yes that book had a huge impact on me. You?
