Beauty Is In Everything

Took a 3 mile walk Friday evening. This regular walk has restored my health, heart and peace of mind.Though I resist doing it I more often find myself looking forward to it. The other day I was keeping a nice pace along with my tunes when I looked to my left and saw a beautiful vision. This pond in the picture isn’t anything special. The ducks like it and in fact in the daytime it’s downright ugly at times. Yet on this night I was seeing the pond with new eyes, or was it a new perspective. I am reminded how this is mimicking my life. Often I get caught up in experiencing the contraction phase (the muck) and forget to remember that next to that muck is the expansion (the beauty/ease). Alongside the crumbling down is the blossoming.  Beauty resides right next to ugly – in fact perhaps – it is one in the same.

Wishing you a New Year of increased expansion – greater visions of beauty – easy dissolving of that which no longer serves. A revived – full – glorious – loved life <3

My Gift To You – Your Gift To You

I am sharing with you a Seasonal Gift because what I know from hearing the voices of women over the past few years is that many of you have felt the urging and call to no longer be controlled by limitation and your fear voice.  You have dreams and desires and you are done with waiting and hiding from yourself.

It is time to REVIVE your life to THRIVE in 2012.

I’m doing it with you, I’ve already done a lot but believe me I’m ready for more.  The voice in my head that doubts, tells me I’m too tired, too old, too busy, too this too that, is lovingly being put aside to sleep on a hammock and take a long nap. I’ve got some fun, joy, abundance of celebration feelings waiting to be experienced and time isn’t slowing down.

Is it clarity you want? Focus? No excuses? Are you tired of turning around year after year and finding yourself in pretty much the same place with the same soundtrack playing in your head? Me too – I am tired of it and I have said enough. I am answering the call -

Does this sound like you – even a little bit?

This year I have dusted off the cobwebs and took a stand and said “why not me”? Yes, I’m busy – I have an aging parent, a new grand-baby, niece, nephews and am in transition with regards to my home. I’m growing a business and I am ready to rest on a beach for a long time – I am experiencing tiredness.   What drives me is I don’t want to turn around filled with regret and wondering what if. If I were to hold back I would be telling the Universe/God/Source/Mother/Barney that I don’t believe in everything I’ve done, read and felt. I don’t trust.  I have a good life and yet I choose not to be limited. I choose to have access to the best health care I need as I age deeply into my wisdom years.  I choose to not be one of the over 60 yrs of age women who are living impoverished.  I am done rationalizing and hiding. Yes, I get scared!

Does this sound like you or someone you know?

This is a project I’m working on along with a group of other women and this piece in particular is inspired by the work I’m doing in a group coaching workshop. When I first heard about it I got super excited because I have never started my New Year with this much attention to what it is I want the next year to feel like.  I am going to make this my ritual every holiday season. I celebrate Christmas so this will be easy for me to do in combination with my other Christmas/shopping/crafting/wrapping and shipping.

Let’s have a go at it and begin to plant the seeds for “inspired action”:

http://janepollakblog.com/2010/11/

  • Vision Board Materials (lots of picture magazines – go to used bookstore – charms, trinkets, lace, glitter, any other crafting pieces that will enhance the feel/essence of your vision board. Small poster board or cardboard.  Basically you will be gluing, taping images, etc., to your board that is the essence of what you desire to have/feel in 2012
  • Lined paper/stationery (only you will see this)

Six Areas of Wellness:

1.Relationships

2.Business/Professional

3.Finances

4.Health

5.Spiritual

6.Fun/Playtime

Begin by writing about what you want to have/feel/experience in each of the above 6 areas for 2012.

Don’t hold back – imagine yourself as a child writing this letter to Santa/Universe/ whatever you believe and asking for what you want. This is your BIG DREAM letter. Your abundant, vital, sensual, playful, essence of you life.  If you feel stuck in areas – ask yourself the powerful question “and what else”?

As well – release some of the muck that gets in the way.  If while you are writing – notice if you hear the gremlin voice lending a negative twist.  If you hear the voices of negativity– on another piece of paper – write down the entire negative story that is playing out in your head. When it feels released proceed back to writing what you want over and over till you feel complete. You will know if you are finished because you will feel a sense of softening, spaciousness and peace. Tune into your body.

Decorate your vision board with images, colors, words, things that reflect the essence of what you want (wrote about).  Make it as pretty and beautiful and authentic to you as you would like it to be. Nobody else is going to see this.

Proceed to wrap it all up (board and letter). Wrap it in as pretty of paper as possible.  Go all out with the glam or the bling or as simple and Zen as you would like it. Don’t worry about decorating it according to whatever façade you may have lived this past year of your life.  If you have adopted a more “granola crunch attitude” because that is the image you have needed to project to your peers, etc., allow yourself to add that bling (over the top) if that feels better to you.  Yes even how you wrap the gift is an opportunity to grow into your most honest, authentic you.

Pack it all up (in a box or padded envelope) and ship it by Dec. 31st or as close to this date as you can (you can also do this anytime and around birthdays). When the package is delivered, only open the outer packaging, not the gift itself.   Set the package somewhere that you can see it throughout the year-perhaps over a fireplace mantel, an open space that you can be reminded of it every day.

Now you are going to activate your visionary 3rd eye muscle by imagining/remembering what you put on the board and in those 6 areas of wellness (feel the essence of what you created).  Activate the visual excitement over what is inside this package. Keep exercising your 3rd eye throughout 2012. Vision and feel that which you have wrapped up.

December 31st 2012 you will open the package and see all that you cared for, wrote about, dreamed about in 2011 for 2012.  You will see things you got, feelings you received that were in alignment with what you visioned for 2012.

I hope you do this, I am and I would love it if you shared your experiences.  I invite you to stretch yourself these last few days of the year so that you can truly start 2012 off with the planting of new seeds, strongest intentions ever. Remember – it is a grand time to be alive. It’s what you do with it that matters.

UPDATE: I forgot one important element – super important element. When you mail the package you need to “LET GO HOW” it will all happen. Yes – that is the important piece. Notice if you are tracking if it is happening yet or you are wondering how.  When you let go of how, keep tapped into feeling the essence of the creation, you will be able to receive inspired action.

Planting Your Winter Solstice Garden: Inside Out

Winter Solstice: Time to Get Planting

As I type this post we are on the Eve of Winter Solstice; the darkest day of the year.  Back in the day people feared that the sun wouldn’t return so they honored the sun at this time.  Can you imagine feeling that way? Talk about a connection with nature.  I always refer to this time of year as a festival of lights.  As I’ve gotten older I am in awe at the wonder and magic that this season can bring to an ordinary neighborhood or city block; lights twinkling many or few will warm your heart no matter what.

This solstice has extra significance for me as I made a commitment to sign-up for a group coaching program.  Yes a coach needs a coach.  I hadn’t participated in a group coaching event and wanted to give it a whirl so when I do more group coaching not only do I have extra tools to bring to the experience, I have a deeper understanding on its value because I have done it. The first homework we were given is to write a letter to 2011 (send it on its way). In addition we are to set our intentions, goals, vision for 2012.  I look at this as if I am planting a seed and I am going to light a candle to honor the sunlight that will nourish my dreams and make them grow. The sunlight represents my ability to shine a light through  action, belief in possibility, strong faith and trust.  I turn away from the darkness of fear and cynicism that hinders my growth.

The number 30/30 is a power number for me this year.  Why is this number series important? It will represent the growth and cement the opening and opportunity for greater life experiences.

Inspired Action: Perhaps you too might like to close out 2011 with a letter.  Write your highlights and lowlights for each month (January through December), then set about writing your intentions and vision for 2012. Release 2011 (have a symbolic burning of the past to release) and set about nourishing your 2012 vision and dreams.
